Women’s Health Team
Our Women’s and Children’s healthcare providers at Baptist Health are described as compassionate, friendly, family-oriented, and exceptionally skilled. We are dedicated to delivering comprehensive care for individuals at every life stage, supported by a team of specialists who cater to all your health requirements.
Our providers deliver convenient care utilizing the latest technology, which includes:
- A patient navigator, a registered nurse who assists in coordinating your care.
- Registered radiologic technologists with specialized training in mammography.
- Registered ultrasound technologists.
- Radiologists who analyze and interpret test results.
Our team is made up of committed health professionals who focus on supporting new mothers and their infants:
Childbirth educators
Registered nurses specializing in labor and delivery, along with newborn nursery nurses, will assist you through the various phases of labor and delivery, as well as provide insights on pregnancy topics and baby care during our childbirth classes.
Lactation Nurses
Our certified lactation consultants, along with registered nurses who hold lactation certifications, will equip you for breastfeeding your baby before birth, visit you in the hospital, and offer support once you are home through phone consultations or outpatient appointments.
Neonatologists
Neonatologists manage the most intricate and high-risk scenarios for newborns. If your baby is born prematurely or faces a serious illness, injury, or birth defect, a neonatologist may be present at delivery and provide care for your newborn afterward. They might even engage in your care before birth by consulting with your obstetrician.
Obstetrics/Gynecology Providers
Your OB/GYN or gynecologist offers routine gynecological services, pregnancy and postpartum care, as well as managing more complex medical issues throughout a woman's life.
Pediatricians
These specialists look after your child from birth until they are ready to transition to an adult physician. Numerous pediatric sub-specialty providers, including neonatologists, pediatric cardiologists, and pediatric ophthalmologists, also provide care at Baptist Health.
Respiratory Therapists
A respiratory therapist is responsible for caring for newborns experiencing breathing difficulties, especially those in our neonatal intensive care units. A respiratory therapist will work alongside a nurse and paramedic on Angel One, our ambulance that transports NICU babies to Baptist Medical Center South from other hospitals.
Social Workers
A social worker is a qualified professional who can assist in coordinating your care after you leave the hospital or help you find various services to support you.
