Postpartum

After the baby is born

On postpartum “Happy Endings” is the goal with the mother and baby both being healthy and going home together. This is also our goal as we care for women in any stage of pregnancy. The primary focus is providing family centered maternity care, with an emphasis on patient/family education and discharge teaching/planning. Postpartum patients range in age from 14-45. Services for GYN patients are provided but for the most part services are provided for antepartals and postpartum deliveries (c-section and vaginal deliveries). Bed capacity is 38.

The staff has a friendly, caring, knowledgeable reputation. There are several nurses on the unit who have NRP certifications and one nurse has national certification. The staff consists of 19 registered nurses, one licensed practicing nurse, four patient care technicians, and two unit clerks. The PRN staff consists of five registered nurses, one licensed practicing nurse, and one patient care technician. Staff members are privileged to work with a great group of physicians on postpartum.
