| Sharing and Caring It’s true for just about any experience: Sharing makes it more fun and less difficult. This is especially true with pregnancy! As time flies by-and it will fly-and your due date is getting closer, you are probably having fun doing such things as planning and purchasing items for your baby’s layette, buying maternity clothes and items for your baby. There are also the less pleasant aspects. Perhaps you are feeling more fatigued than normal. There are always those household chores that need to be done. You may have other children who need care. And, if you work, you may be feeling doubly burdened. Fathers-to-be can play a big role in many ways, as can the other children in the family. Whatever the job, it is more fun to do together. Perhaps your husband can accompany you on shopping trips, or help pick out maternity clothes. In some families, husbands help their wives make sure they follow their exercise and diet regimens and report any unusual health conditions to their doctors. Helping with the housework and chores is another way your husband and children can be of help, especially if you are working. Husbands can see that you get the rest and relaxation you need by helping out around the house. Husbands can be valuable sources of moral support, patience and understanding. On the other hand, you should not forget your husband – from time to time, he may need a little moral support, too! |
