Baptist Medical Center South and Baptist Medical Center East each have a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Both units are equipped with state of the art equipment for diagnosis and treatment of critically ill newborns. Care for these newborns are provided by our team of highly skilled and dedicated neonatologists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and emergency technicians. In addition, Angel One, a transport vehicle specially designed for safe and long distance travel, comes equipped with technology that better facilitates the needs of the newborns and expecting mothers. In case of unexpected delays, Angel One features an on-board electrical generator, which allows it to act as a self-contained neonatal unit for up to 24 hours.
