Job Shadow Day encourages students to get motivated

January 2004 - This year the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce, Montgomery Public Schools and Partners in Education teamed up to give hundreds of high school students the chance to spend a day with the workforce of Montgomery. For five years, Job Shadow Day has helped make connections between learning and earning for thousands of public school students.

Baptist Health hosted a group of 110 students from all area public high schools. Students arrived at Baptist Medical Center South early in the morning eager to learn more about healthcare and how they can pursue a healthcare career. Our theme this year was "A Day in the Life of a Patient." Many departments were represented to give the students an overview of all the different career opportunities available. They learned what to expect as a patient and also discussed how they could pursue careers in these different areas.
