Who We Serve
The most recent statistics indicate that one in five individuals will struggle with some form of significant mental or emotional issue and that one in 10 will require hospitalization. A number of environmental and genetic factors contribute to the onset of such conditions. Mental and emotional illness affects people indiscriminately regardless of gender, race or financial status. Like other health issues, untreated mental health problems worsen over time. Crossbridge provides encouragement, and state-of-the-art treatment in a therapeutic environment for people ages 19 and older.
Crossbridge Behavioral Health has an established team of healthcare professionals who are committed to providing sensitive, compassionate services for adults with psychiatric issues. All treatment is personalized to meet the unique needs of each individual.
Crossbridge has two distinct programs which focus on the needs of people with mood disorders (major depression, bipolar disorder) or psychoses (schizophrenia and others).
The geriatric program at Crossbridge is devoted to helping older adults and their familes. Growing older can be difficult. Many experience the loss of a loved one, a devastating injury or illness, increased use of medication and loss of independence. These are just some of the factors that can influence the physical, mental and emotional well-being of an older adult. The effect can result in depression, anxiety, confusion, agitation or additional indications that hinder with an older person’s quality of life.
The geriatric psychiatry program at Crossbridge Behavioral Health is devoted to helping our patients focus on these issues. In this program, a complete medical assessment is also conducted as needed to acquire a clear understanding of any separate medical problems, such as congestive heart failure, arthritis or diabetes.
About the Inpatient Program
In both programs, an individualized treatment plan is recommended to meet the specific needs of the patient. The programs provide a complete range of traditional and innovative treatments, including medication, music therapy, and intensive inpatient group therapy and outpatient support groups. Family education is provided as identified by the interdisciplinary team and upon a family member’s request.
Our behavioral health team meets daily to assess progress in helping patients achieve their established goals. During this daily assessment, the team is prepared to alter the plan of care when necessary. The length of treatment varies depending on each individual’s needs. Upon discharge, patients will be referred to appropriate agencies for follow-up care in a coordinated, timely fashion.
