Dear Applicant:
The Baptist Medical Center South School of Diagnostic Ultrasound and Echocardiography is being transferred to H. Councill Trenholm State Technical College. Those students accepted to the program beginning in the fall semester (August 2009) will become Trenholm State Technical College students. The program will be located on the Trenholm campus located at 1225 Air Base Blvd. in Montgomery, AL 36108.
The positive benefits of this move are the award of an associate in applied technology degree upon completion and access to traditional financial aid afforded by all colleges and universities. We are confident that you will find the same or better quality educational experience as a student at Trenholm State Technical College.
The program will seek to transfer its current accreditation with the Joint Review Committee on Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS) so you will still be able to sit for the national certification examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. We appreciate your patience during this transition and we look forward to reviewing your application for acceptance.
The following requirements and prerequisites will be needed in order to apply:
Cost: $90/semester hour. There are 76 hours in the Associate degree program so that will = $6,840. If you already have some of the prereqs then of course the cost would be lower. Financial aid is available through the college.
Length: With prereqs completed the Ultrasound Program is 4 semesters in length which equals approx. 16 months.

ALL APPLICANTS MUST HAVE A SCORE OF 19 OR GREATER ON THE ACT.
