Child Life

The Child Life Program at Baptist Medical Center South is a program designed to promote normal growth and development for patients 0-18 years old. The program ensures that the pediatric patients and their families are comfortable, happy and that they have no questions regarding hospitalization. 

Child Life provides developmentally appropriate activities and teachings to these patients. The Child Life specialist provides therapeutic play in order to explain medical procedures.

The Certified Child Life Specialist, Heather Talley, conducts an initial assessment of the children to ensure they are provided the most adequate, developmentally appropriate care possible. Daily visits from the Child Life specialist can be expected.
