MONTGOMERY – Baptist Medical Center East was recently recognized with an Excellence through Insight award for “Overall Pediatrics Patient Satisfaction” for medium hospitals by HealthStream, Inc.
Baptist East was awarded this honor for its commitment to excellence in patient care. To qualify for an award, a hospital must have been a patient satisfaction-tracking client of HealthStream in 2012, scored in the 75th percentile or higher, and surveyed a minimum of 100 patients. Baptist East was chosen for receiving the highest ratings in pediatrics patient satisfaction from among HealthStream’s clients, as well as exceeding industry standards.
HealthStream CEO Robert A. Frist, Jr. said, “We applaud Baptist East’s high-level commitment to excellence in healthcare—and we are pleased to recognize their achievement through our presentation of an Excellence through Insight award.”
According to Paula Brennan, director of Women’s and Children’s Services at Baptist East, the pediatrics staff has a passion for what they do.
“Patient satisfaction is so very important,” Brennan said. “It is consistent quality patient care that is provided every shift to every patient. It is what helps parents when they are afraid for their child, it helps the child who is in a strange environment and is scared to death and it supports the staff so that they can do what they were called to do.”
