Every October, women and men alike think pink as a way to bring breast cancer awareness to the forefront of all our minds. For the last four years, Baptist Health has hosted the Baptist Breast Health Fair to help educate others about the importance of mammograms and early detection.
This year the Baptist Breast Health Center, Mix 103 and Capitol Filmworks are hosting the Baptist Breast Health Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7 at Capitol Filmworks in EastChase, 7123 EastChase Pkwy. in Montgomery. A prayer and pink balloon release will take place at 11 a.m. in honor of all women and men who have been told they have breast cancer.
A number of local vendors and organizations will be on hand to help raise awareness of breast cancer, as well as offer education about what women and men can do to detect breast cancer. Several organizations will also be accepting donations for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk (Saturday, Oct.29 at Huntingdon College).
