Baptist Hospice to Host We Honor Veterans Blood Drive

Montgomery – As a way to thank and remember veterans, Baptist Hospice is hosting the We Honor Veterans Blood Drive with LifeSouth Community Blood Centers from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday Nov. 10 at 301 Interstate Park in Montgomery.

Baptist Hospice is a We Honor Veterans Partner. According to We Honor Veterans, one in four dying Americans is a veteran. Veterans using hospice care have special needs, and the We Honor Veterans program helps hospice organizations learn more about these challenges.

Hospice is a special way of caring for people with a life limiting illness. Baptist Hospice strives to create a secure and caring environment that emphasizes the quality of life by focusing on the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of the patient and family. It is designed to help people spend their days living as comfortably as possible at home surrounded by their loved ones. Baptist Hospice involves a caring team of compassionate, highly-trained professionals and dedicated volunteers who are committed to providing care to patients with life limiting illnesses.

November is National Hospice/Palliative Care Month. In recognition of this month, Baptist Hospice enjoys helping give back to the community. This is the fourth year Baptist Hospice has hosted a blood drive. Baptist Hospice is encouraging the community to celebrate the life of someone you love by donating blood in honor or memory of them, or donate as a thank you to veterans.
