MONTGOMERY – Recently named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals by Thomson Reuters, Baptist Medical Center East is proud to announce that they are also in the top 5 percent in the nation for patient safety.
The distinction comes from HealthGrades, the leading independent healthcare ratings organization. Out of nearly 5,000 hospitals, Baptist East was one of only 238 hospitals nationwide to receive the 2010 HealthGrades Patient Safety Excellence Award™.
“The safety of our patients is a top priority,” Peter Selman, CEO of Baptist East said. “Our employees and physicians are committed to treating our patients with respect which promotes a culture that enables us to provide patients with a safe healthcare experience.”
This award comes after being named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals by Thomson Reuters, a leading provider of information and solutions to improve the cost and quality of healthcare. The award recognizes hospitals that have achieved excellence in clinical outcomes, patient safety, patient satisfaction, financial performance and operational efficiency.
“Receiving national awards is confirmation that we have a wonderful, dedicated team at Baptist East,” Selman said. “I am incredibly proud of Baptist East’s staff and physicians for their continuous effort to deliver the highest quality of compassionate, patient-focused care. These awards are exciting for our hospital, but also for the community we serve.”
