Baptist South No. 1 in Alabama for vascular surgery

MONTGOMERY – Baptist Medical Center South has received a 5-star rating for the quality of its Vascular Care from HealthGrades, the leading independent healthcare ratings organization. The recognition is based on HealthGrades’ annual Hospital Quality in America study, which analyzes patient outcomes at virtually all of the nation’s hospitals. Baptist South will celebrate their achievement at an award ceremony at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 25 at Baptist Medical Center South, 2105 East South Blvd.

Additionally, for 2010, Baptist Medical Center South also ranked in the top 5 percent in the nation for Vascular Care.    “This award shows the importance Baptist South places on quality and patient care,” Lynne Parker, Baptist South’s CEO, said. “We have a phenomenal team of physician, nurses, techs and others who always want to be No. 1 to our patients and we are very proud that their hard work and diligence have been recognized.”

The HealthGrades study, the largest annual report of its kind, analyzed patient outcomes in nearly 40 million Medicare hospitalization records from 5,000 hospitals during the years 2006, 2007 and 2008.
