Biography

Dr. Jack Cooper is a board certified general surgeon who is a native of Montgomery and graduated from Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School. He then earned his undergraduate degree in zoology from Auburn University where he graduated Cum Laude and was inducted into the Cardinal Key and Biological national honor societies.

He received his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile, AL where he received the Michael Moore Award for outstanding student in Gross Anatomy. He was also the co-founder and President of the Surgical Interest Group of the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency and minimally invasive and bariatric surgery fellowship at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC.   

He is an associate member of the American College of Surgeons.   Dr. Cooper has a special interest in treating all general surgical conditions and will perform open and laparoscopic surgery and endoscopy procedures.   Dr. Cooper enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, who is also a physician, and their young son and daughter.  He is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hiking, canoeing, hunting and fishing.
