W. Russell Tyner
Chief Executive Officer
Russ Tyner joined Baptist Health as president and chief executive officer in 2004. He is responsible for charting the strategic direction of Baptist Health.
Prior to joining Baptist Health, Tyner served as senior vice president and chief operating officer at UAB Medical West in Birmingham. He is a seasoned executive with more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience and holds a bachelor's in communications/journalism from the University of Alabama. In 2004, he completed a Global Leadership in Healthcare Program through the University of Michigan School of Business.
Robin Barca, RN
Chief Operating Officer
Robin serves as the COO for Baptist Health and most recently also served as the CEO of Baptist Medical Center South. She joined Baptist Health in 2002 as senior vice president and chief operating officer (COO). Her COO duties include providing operational guidance and support for Baptist Medical Center East, Baptist Medical Center South and Prattville Baptist Hospital.
Additionally, she has oversight of system operations for information technology, care transformation, organizational development, hospice services, disease management, pastoral care, residency programs and the Institute for Patient Safety and Medical Simulation.
Prior to moving to Montgomery, Robin was senior vice president and administrator of Methodist Healthcare Central Hospital in Memphis. Her extensive healthcare experience includes her tenure as executive vice president/COO for Methodist Healthcare - Jackson Hospitals in Jackson, Miss. and vice president, clinical services for Wellmont Health System - Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn.
Chief Financial Officer
Katrina Belt received her bachelor of arts in business administration from Huntingdon College and a master's of public administration at New York University. Since joining the UAB Health System in July 2002, Katrina has played a key role in public finance, affiliation and acquisition transactions for the health system.
Prior to her arrival at UAB, Katrina acted as liaison with IBM for the New York City Department of Finance to facilitate a citywide e-government initiative, and as a project consultant to the New York City Partnership and Chamber of Commerce in the aftermath of Sept. 11, 2001.
Katrina continues to serve as a resource to the UAB Health System entities for financing transactions. She has also held former posts including treasurer of the UAB Health System, associate director of the Alabama-West Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church, assistant director of Admission for Huntingdon College and ombudsman for the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at NYU.
Julia Henig, MSHA, MBA, FACHE
Julia Henig has served as vice president of Baptist Health since 2004. She has 15 years of health care management experience and currently oversees the business development and strategic initiatives of the health system including the operations of Baptist Ventures, Inc.
She has recruited more than 100 physicians to Montgomery and has lead the strategic planning process to expand services at all three Baptist Hospitals, Montgomery Surgical Center and related joint ventures. Julia has also developed new medical practices for Baptist Health including primary care, gastroenterology and hepatology, general and trauma surgery, wound care, urology and neurology. Her most recent accomplishment includes the development and oversight of the construction of Taylor Medical Complex, an 85,000 square foot ambulatory surgery center and physician office building on the campus of Baptist Medical Center East.
Prior to joining Baptist Health, Julia served as the assistant planning and strategy officer for UAB Health System in Birmingham, Ala.
Julia holds a bachelor of business administration from the University of Mississippi and a master's in business administration, a master's of science in health administration and a certificate of gerontology from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. In 2004, she completed a Global Leadership in Healthcare Program through the University of Michigan School of Business.
Julia is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, an adjunct professor with the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is a member of the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development, Medical Group Management Association and Healthcare Financial Management Association. She is actively involved in the community serving as the founding president of EMERGE Montgomery and through service on several community boards and the Junior League of Montgomery.
C. Mason Brown, MD, MBA
Chief Medical Information Officer
Dr. Brown joins us from Floyd Medical Center in Rome, GA where he served as the Chief Medical Information Officer and Medical Director of Performance Improvement. He earned his BA from Jacksonville University (magna cum laude) and Doctor of Medicine from Medical College of Virginia (VCU).
His residency was completed through the Family Practice Residency at Tallahassee Memorial Regional Medical Center. Dr. Brown is also certified in Sleep Medicine from Northside School of Sleep Medicine in Atlanta, GA. He earned his MBA from Auburn University.
Donovan Kendrick, MD
Chief Medical Officer
Donovan Kendrick, MD is a board certified neurosurgeon with Neurosurgery Associates of Central Alabama, P.C. and also serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Baptist Health in Montgomery, AL.
A Montgomery native, Dr. Kendrick attended Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama before going to the University of Alabama School of Medicine. Dr. Kendrick completed his residency in Neurological Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, joining private practice in 1994. Dr. Kendrick provides general neurosurgical procedures for adults with a special interest in cervical and lumbar spine with emphasis on minimally invasive approaches, trigeminal neuralgia, tumors, and cranial surgeries.
Baptist Medical Center South
Peter Selman became the CEO of Baptist Medical Center South in July 2013. Peter joined Baptist Health in 2009 as the CEO for Baptist Medical Center East. Prior to coming to Baptist Health, Peter served as CEO of DeKalb Regional Medical Center in Fort Payne, Ala. His senior leadership experience also includes terms as CEO of Cherokee Medical Center in Centre, Ala., CEO of Appling Hospital in Baxley, Ga. and vice president of Operations for Coosa Valley Medical Center in Sylacauga, Ala.
After receiving a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from the University of Alabama, Peter earned a master’s in marketing and public relations from the University of Alabama and a master’s in health services administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Baptist Medical Center East
Jeff Rains is the CEO of Baptist Medical Center East. Prior to joining Baptist East in July 2013, Rains was the CEO of Dekalb Regional Hospital. He has more than 13 years of healthcare leadership experience, including serving as CEO at Hartselle Medical Center in Hartselle, Ala. and COO at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Ala.
He received his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Alabama and his master’s in business administration from Middle Tennessee State University.
Ginger Henry, RN
Prattville Baptist Hospital
Ginger Henry joined Prattville Baptist Hospital in 1998. She served as manager of the Emergency Department until 2003 when she was promoted to chief nursing officer. A year later she was appointed CEO.
Ginger earned an associates degree in nursing from Troy University, a bachelor of science degree in nursing and a master's degree in business administration from Auburn University Montgomery.
She serves on the Boards of Directors of the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce, YMCA, and United Way. Ginger is also involved in multiple civic organizations in support of the Prattville community.
Lynne Parker, RN, FACHE
Chief Executive Officer
Crossbridge Behavioral Health
Lynne Parker has been dedicated to Baptist Health for more than 30 years. In June 2010, Lynne became the CEO of Crossbridge Behavioral Health. Before this she served in various roles including clinical instructor, associate director of nursing, vice president of patient care, associate administrator, administrator and CEO at Baptist Medical Center South.
Prior to joining Baptist Health, Lynne held positions at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center in Anniston and Jacksonville State University. She earned a bachelor of science in nursing from Jacksonville State University, a master of science in nursing from the University of Alabama and a Health Services Development Certification from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In 1999, she receive the Alabama League of Nursing Lamplighter Award. She is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
